The residents and carers at Stanfield enjoy being part of a warm and welcoming local community. We encourage an atmosphere of fun, friendship and inclusion, and our home runs a varied weekly programme of activities and events designed to bring people together.
Local visitors often share their talents and interests — from musicians, performers and speakers to volunteers and neighbourhood groups who drop in for a chat over a cup of tea. These connections help create a wonderful sense of belonging and make Stanfield a vibrant place to live.
Guided by suggestions from our residents, our Activities and Lifestyle Co-ordinators plan a rich calendar of meaningful pastimes throughout the year. Popular activities include gardening, baking, painting, quizzes, music sessions, gentle exercise, and crafts, as well as regular events celebrating seasonal occasions and local traditions.
Simple everyday pleasures are at the heart of life at Stanfield — a morning stroll around the garden, feeding the birds, arranging flowers, baking cakes for our fundraising teas, or helping to lay the table before meals. We encourage everyone to take part in the life of the home in ways that feel comfortable and fulfilling, while also recognising the importance of quiet time and personal space.
At PH Care Group, we’re delighted to use The Daily Sparkle across all our homes, including Stanfield House Nursing Home. The Daily Sparkle is a wonderful reminiscence newspaper filled with fascinating stories, quizzes, and conversation starters, specially created for older people. It helps spark memories, laughter and meaningful conversations between residents and our care teams, enriching daily life and promoting genuine connection.
